The Black in Fashion Council (BIFC) have signed over 70 companies in the effort make the fashion and beauty industry more inclusive. The signatory brands have pledged a commitment to institute inclusive policies and programs including raising the percentage of black employees in both junior and executive level positions. The Black in Fashion Council, cofounded by fashion publicist Sandrine Charles and Teen Vogue Editor-in-Chief Lindsay Peoples Wagner, was created in response to the racial unrest in America reverberating through the halls of corporate America. The companies have pledged to work with BIFC for the next three years to develop and advance a roadmap to inclusivity. Each company will be evaluated based on four pillars - human resources, talent inclusion, support and corporate spend - to generate an equality index score and develop tailored action plans for improvement to include one on one coaching and listening sessions with diversity and inclusion executives. Recent signatories include Ralph Lauren, Tory Burch, Jimmy Choo, Saks Fifth Avenue and Shopbop. Visit Black in Fashion Council to learn more and get a full list of partners!
